Datuk Phoong Jin Zhe has been serving as the Minister of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship, spearheading regional economic growth initiatives since 2023. He is also a Member of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly, representing the constituents of Luyang. As chairman of Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park, he oversees industrial and manufacturing activities in the region. Previously, he held the portfolio of Minister of Youth and Sports from 2019 to 2020, advocating for youth empowerment.

He also went to New Era University College graduating with an Associate Degree in Journalism. Phoong Jin Zhe, with a strong track record in public service and his role as the Minister of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship Sabah is dedicated to his commitment of fostering economic growth and supporting entrepreneurs in the region. His role in the state legislative assembly and chairmanship of Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park further illustrates his active involvement in the region's development
