Overview

The British Club is Singapore's favourite Social and Sports Club. A unique private community where Members of more than 50 nationalities and their families enjoy superb facilities, outstanding restaurants, and a high level of service. Positioned as Singapore's only Hilltop Retreat, the Club occupies a distinctive perch in the Bukit Timah area, offering an exclusive urban sanctuary that blends British heritage with a genuinely international character. 

History & Origins

Born from 1960s British expat frustration with overcrowded Singapore clubs, The British Club was formally registered in 1983 and carved out of the jungle of Bukit Tinggi. After years of construction, it was officially opened on 15 November 1987 by HRH Princess Anne, marking the beginning of one of Singapore's most beloved private club institutions.

Facilities

Sports & Recreation: The Club features three swimming pools set amid lush tropical greenery, complemented by a diverse sporting programme spanning over ten disciplines including tennis, squash, cricket, football, golf, and more.

Fitness: The gymnasium is equipped with a comprehensive range of free weights, resistance machines, and functional training equipment, everything needed for a complete full-body workout.

Workspaces & Leisure: Members have access to dedicated quiet workspaces, a co-working hub, a studio room, and a Club Shop catering to both productivity and leisure needs throughout the day.

Dining: The Club features five distinct dining concepts catering to a range of tastes and occasions from a signature grill restaurant and a classic British-style pub, to a casual café, a lively sports bar, and a poolside bar. Together, these venues cover everything from relaxed daytime bites to elevated evening dining.

Banquet & Corporate Facilities

For events and corporate functions, the Club offers seven banquet venues including The Elizabeth Suite, the Stuart Room, and the Treetops Suite, supported by full catering services.

Awards & Recognition

The Club has earned several notable accolades in recent years, including being named among the Top 5 Best Social Clubs in Singapore by Expat Living Readers' Choice 2025, and winning the Gold Award for Best Family Club in Singapore at the Honey Kids Asia Love Local Awards 2025.
